Barbara J Odum

Barbara J. Odum, was born May 08,1955 at Sylacauga Hospital, to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie G. Odum and Mrs. Virginia Butler Odum of Goodwater, Alabama. Ms. Odum confessed Christ at an early age, and united with the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Goodwater, Alabama.

Ms. Odum early childhood education was received in Coosa County, Alabama, and later she received a BA from University of Montevallo and a MA from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa Alabama. After finishing her education Ms. Odum moved to Saraland, Alabama and moved her church home to New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until she retired after twenty five years of decated service from Searcy Mental Hospital.

Ms. Odum moved back to Goodwater Alabama and rejoined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Albert Hodge.

Ms. Odum fell peacefully asleep in God’s arms on December 15, 2021.

Ms. Odum leaves to cherish her memories, two loving siblings, Dorothy M. Odum and Willie C. Odum both of Goodwater, Alabama; one niece, Jamelia Odum of Anniston, Alabama; one nephew, Charles Maurice Odum of Goodwater, Alabama; one aunte, Madge Butler of Atlanta, Georgia. nd a host of cousins, Church family and friends.
