Estella Gaffney McIntyre was born to Mrs. Julia Peoples Gaffney and Mr. Lon Gaffney on April 7, 1925. Estella sadly took her final breath surrounded by loved ones at the grand age of 98 on August 20, 2023, leaving behind a rich legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts. Estella’s love was a cornerstone in the lives of everyone it touched.
She was a devoted wife of the late Rev. Dr. John Henry.
She was proceeded in death by John H. McIntyre Jr. &
Georgia McIntyre.
She will be remembered as a loving sister to Lillie D. Coleman,
a remarkable mother to surviving children, Phyllis Speights, Levetta Wheeler, Kathey Herrington, Timothy McIntyre and Lorenza (Patricia) McIntyre,
a loving grand mother to 23, a great grand mother to 32 and great-great grandmother of 5.
Beyond her role as a mother, grandmother and an exceptional cook, she carried herself with grace and poise as a First Lady of her community.
In our community, she was a pillar of strength, offering guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support to those around her. Her dedication to helping others was a reflection of her kind and compassionate heart. She was the embodiment of selflessness, always willing to lend a hand to those in need, a testament to the values she held dear.
The impact of Estella’s love, leadership, and community involvement will forever resonate within out hearts and serve as a source of inspiration
