Estelle Gooden

Estelle Gooden, 88, was called home for her eternal rest on June 20, 2020 at the Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center. She was born November 8, 1931, in Talladega, AL, to WillIsom and Willie Mae Groce.

At a young age, she united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Talladega, AL. She was a spiritual woman, and a devoted wife and mother.  Estelle truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting and spending time with friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Sparks; seven children, Bobby, Elton, Craig, Andrew, James, Brenda, and Curtis; two grandchildren, Drigges Jackson and Franklin Twymon; and 2 great grandchildren, Terrion Isom and Vashawnda Garrett.

She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Diana M. (Kirk) Kelley of Alpine, AL, Nettie R. (Lonnie) Whitson of Talladega, AL, Deborah J. (Lernert) Patton of Alpine, AL, Melba D. Gooden of Alpine, AL, and Jacqueline (Ronald) Gooden of Alpine, AL; a special son, Steve Gooden; a special daughter, Bobbie Ann Garrett; 23 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Groce of Talladega, AL, and Brenda Groce of Birmingham, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
