So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." I Corinthians 15:54-57
In humble submission to the will of God, Sunset Memorial Chapel sadly announces the passing of Mother Katie D. Richards Williams, 90, formerly of Sylacauga, Alabama. Mother Williams transitioned into eternal rest and peace Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in Nashville, TN. Although we are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she's in a land "where she'll never grow old." Farewell, Mother Williams. You were tired and needed your rest. You were called forth by God, and your soul was truly blessed. We will not weep and mourn because we don't see you on this side anymore. We know that you'll be waiting to meet us on the other shore.
A Service of Love and Celebration will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012 at St. Thomas United Methodist Church with the pastor, Dr. Paul Hillard, officiating. Her earthly vessel will be laid to rest in the stillness of the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Mother Williams will lie in repose two hours prior to the services. Public viewing will be held today from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with family hour from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Please keep the Williams and Richards Families in prayer, as we reflect the gracious memories.
