Mother Vera Hargrove Ball, born May 23, 1926 in Tuscaloosa County, was the daughter of the late Thurman and Isabell Livingston Hargrove. She was the fifth oldest of 14 children. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Worcester MA, where she serve as a Deaconess and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
On April 7, 2013, Mrs. Ball found sweet rest, upon hearing the voice of God saying, "I see the road is getting rough and the hill hard to climb; Take wings and fly away, My child, peace is now thine." She went home to be with the Lord in the comfort of her residence in Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Ball; stepmother, Oalia Hargrove Carter; and eight siblings, Earline H. Safford, Jodie Hargrove, Roger Hargrove, Wesley Hargrove, Matthis Hargrove, Alvin Hargrove, James Hargrove, and Claudie Hargrove.
Mrs. Ball leaves to cherish her memories: two loving daughters, Mary Ball of Boston, MA and Mildred Ball of Kennesaw, GA; five loving sons, James Ball of Lynn, MA, Arthur âPopâ Ball of Worcester, MA, Bennett âLesterâ Ball of Rochester, NH, John (Claire) Ball of Tucson, AZ, and Micheal Ball of Boston, MA; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lottie Ball of Boston, MA; four brothers, Thurman (Mary) Hargrove, Lum Hargrove both of Worcester, MA, Lee (JoAnne) Hargrove, and Clifton (Sarah) Hargrove both of Tuscaloosa, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
