Velma L Nix Caraway was born to the late Osie Nix and Mary Nix on October 8, 1951.
Velma received her education from Wheatley Middle School. Velma received Christ at the age of 32 and she was a member of the Mountain Grove Baptist Church in
Childersburg, AL under the leadership of the late Rev. Robert Hatten. Velma was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend and true worshipper. She spent her time serving her community, family and God.
She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving daughter, Peggy A, (Nix) Keller of Fort Payne AL, two brothers, Bobby (Martha) Nix of Michigan DT and Albert Nix of Missouri; a special niece/daughter Kendra Swain of Childersburg, AL; three grandchildren, Charmonique Thomas, Terri Thomas and Alley White; six great grandchildren and very special niece/sister Betty J. Nix of Childersburg, AL and A one of a kind niece/daughter, Gwendylon Higgins of Missouri and a very close friend Mae Ester Barlow of Childersburg, AL.
