Virginia L. Carter

Mrs. Virginia Carter, age 90, of Sylacauga, AL, transitioned to her eternal life on Sunday, December 18, at her residence.

She leaves to cherish her memory six loving and devoted children: Roosevelt (Elizabeth) Thomas, Mary (John) Carter, Pearlie McKenzie, Virginia Averiett, all of Sylacauga, AL,  Eddie Thomas of  Seattle, WA, and Robert (Darlene) Carter of  Portland, OR; several  loving & dedicated grandchildren, great – grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one God– daughter, Gloria (Cecil) Fomby; two sisters, Mary Thompson of Birmingham and Rebecca Langley of Uniontown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. from the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, with the Pastor Rodney P. Looney, Officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Remains will lie in repose one hour prior to the services, at the church.
